June Club Shipments

Believe it or not, I have cut down my club shipments. .... This is Yartini's "Lemoncello" which I have to say I am destashing already. Not really my color....

This is My Rubber Ducky in Lilac --includes soap of the same scent with a great scrub.

The Unique Sheep's yarn is soft and lovely!

Woolgirl's shipment, Raining Cats and Dogs", was over the top. Check out all the cat and dog goodies: 2 patterns, assorted charms and stickers, wool wash, note cards, an umbrella tape measure, paw-shaped needle gauge, a darling bone shaped calculator, and pattern tamers (my personal fav!).
The yarn is Dream in Color Smooshy and look at those adorable stitch markers!

Other knitting news: I am almost finished with those Primavera Socks I started last June. Only 15 rows of the cuff and I am done! I will have 4 new yarns to show off soon!

Socks!

Well I am trying to get socks off-the-needles! These were from sKnithces Cinema Club, called "Feed Me Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors. I call them Lily's socks because my friend's dog, Lily, took them from the table and ran around with them in her mouth whilel they were OTN!

These blue ones are Widdershins that my LYS store had a class on. The yarn is Classic Elite Alpaca Sock. I have 4 more OTN and am working hard to finish those as well!

Yes, a Pair of Socks!

Our Knitting Guild had an early KIP today and I finally finished a pair of socks. These are for my Mom for this past Mother's Day! I have several other single socks finished and am working on getting mates to go with. These are Faceted Rib Socks from "the little box of Socks" book. Yarn is Lorna's Laces in Gold Rush.

Woolgirl Sock Clubl

This was an Ireland theme this time. Hence the sheep -- they are very small, smaller than a quarter.
Of course Jen loads us up with goodies: tape measure, card, note pad, oh the cookie which last about 5 minutes!
The yarn is from Curious Creek and is gorgeous! And look at the darling stitch marker!
To top it all off she sent us this great knitting bag. You can't tell from the pic, but the bottom zips open for extra room and it has tons of pockets to store yarn! Love it! You can click of the photo to more detail.

Out of Commision

Well my boys are "letting" me use their computer......My husband upgraded mine, and now it won't work so I can't upload my pics and share my Finished Friday project --Just Enough Ruffles.

It's blocking now and hopefully it will be dry by the time our next cold front comes in. We are supposed to get rain this weekend and we need it. It has been dry, warm and windy here in Northern California.

Hopefully, I will be up and running next Friday!

Frogging Friday

Remember these?

Well I loved the yarn and the pattern but as soon as got to the lace I started to think: "These are so lovely and lacey, will I ever wear them?" I can see myself on the sidelines at my boy's lacrosse game in these. I am a turtleneck-jeans-clogs-kind-of-a gal.

I then found this pattern that called for the same yarn that is just my style!

UFO Progress

Joansie had listed all her UFOs in December and I did the same so now 3 months later I have taken stock and here is what I discovered ( in bold) :

Undercover Club -- remember the monthly shipment of yarn to make 12x12 squares into large blanket? 8 down and 2 to go -- why can't I just finish the darn thing? Still no progress

Deep Sweater. Back is all done, just 2 small front panels and the short sleeves . Sheeeesh.......still no progress

Primavera socks - zzzzzzzzz -- Now I have one finished and cast on the second -- yea!

Soctoberfest socks -- snoozin' -- frogged now and another project planned for the yarn

Sprial socks -- in deep hibernation mode -- cast on the second one now

Valentine Socks -- fast asleep -- still

Rings of Fire -- extingused for now -- no change

Holiday Carusos -- next to finish after the next UFO listed -- finished! see previous post

Charlie Brown Fall Socks -- almost done! Finished!

Gloria Cowl -- yikes! -- frogged and cast on a Felicity hat with the yarn

Gust -- may frog and sell kit -- frogged and listed on Raverly to sell- anyone interested?

Not too bad if I do say so. In my defense since I made the list on December 18th I have completed 2 pairs of mittens, baby slippers, and two cowls. I have also cast on another pair of socks, a ruffled scarf, some scuffs and lace wrist warmers.....great -- more UFOS!

Merry Christmas!

Either I am really early, or I didn't finish my Christmas socks for 2008!

I bought the main yarn at an etsy site that was closing and it was labled 462 yards -- no way, and so and I ran out of yarn. I went to Stitches West and found some Miss Babs yarn to do the heels. Thank goodness I do my socks toe-up with an afterthought heel!

I have done this pattern before (Crusoe) and it is wonderful for handpianted yarn to break of any pooling.
I am all ready for December!

Stitches West Yarn Purchases!

OK - Some pics of my stash enhancments from Stitches West. The first one is not from Stitches, but from a great shop in Campbell called Green Planet Yarn. It is Collinette's Jitterbug in "Monet" which I have had on my Loopy Ewe wish list for a while. I saw it in person and had to have it! Pigeon Roof Studios -- "Lady Heather" -- outstanding, and my next to wind up.

Thes next two are from Sweet Grass Wool and are going to be some some scuffs -- this for my Mom in Rain Forest.

And this one for me that has no name.

I love Miss Babs' yarn and this is called Crazy E . I had to get it seeing how its completely different from anything else I have.

This is from Indie Dyer and was featured on Through the Loops for this great beret. Its called "Starry Nights"

I got another Miss Babs yarn, but you'll see it when I show my next FO. I also got a cute knitting bag as well and took a wonderful class on Ergonomics that every knitter should take. We had a great time and can't wait until next year!

Yarn Club Shipments!

First, I got my first Woolgirl Sock Yarn shipment. I love this package! Everything was "Cleopatra" to tie into the theme of "Being a Queen of our Knitting."

TWO patterns, one scarf pattern so we can appreciate other uses for sock yarn, body creme, a lovely pen and note card, Soak, a silk Lantern Moon bag, a magnetic calendar with the dates of the next shipments,

and then there is the yarn: This is so beautiful -- Zen Yarn Garden sock yarn with cashmere and look at the jewel stitch marker!
Look at this pyramid filled with.....

.....queenly chocolate inside. I know I need a steady diet of this to rule my kingdom!
Upon your 7th order with Woolgirl you are in her Wooly Woolgirl Club ( I had no idea until the box came). I received a great tote, pen, SOAK, note pad with another pen for my new bag, a gauge key chain, soap, stitch marker, and
more yarn from the Unique Sheep with a darling anklet sock pattern.
I got all of this when I came back from Stitches West (where I got to meet the Woolgirl herself)-- wait until I post my goodies -- I have to pace myself......

Finishing and Frogging

Navy blue does not photograph well.... I did one of these gloves 3 times because of
the sizing, and then when I knit the second glove it was slightly smaller. I think because I stretched the yarn our so much on the first one. I need to get mitten blockers and fix the problem.....

And for your frogging pleasure......

I started these a KAL for Socktober. It was a mystery so you got a new clue every week. After I got through the heel and part of the foot, it did not fit me well and I could tell I was not going to like it. Being a committed and loyal person to my knitting and decided to shove the bag under the bed. I just took it out yesterday and thought the yarn was too lovely to be knit into something I don't care for.

I need to re-cake it and I think it is going to be this.

The Rubber Ducky Club

This is the second installment of The Rubber Ducky Club. I love the Pima Petite cotton yarn from The Unique Sheep. This is "Berry Truffle" and it's lovely!

You also get handmade soap, and this time a glass stitch marker.

Another Finishing Friday

This have been in queue for a while -- Magic Slippers. They are so easy, and no seams to sew. They are VERY small, maybe 3 inches long.

These are for my family member who I made the dinosaurs for. Made from stash yarn, so I was being resourceful!

I got some great stash I'll have to post soon----

Finishing Friday

I actually finished Thermis a while ago, but I didn't have any buttons. I went to visit my Mom (had knee surgery Tuesday) and she took me to a funky store that sold old buttons.

Look what I found! They are perfect with Thermis and only 40 cents!

I really think they finish the project nicely.

The Sixth Deadly Sin- Envy

I love this sin. The yarn is lovely and the pattern is frilly and romantic (unlike me) but I love it. I will even learn how to bead some of the stitches.
It is House Blend by The Unique Sheep, but the colorway won't be available outside the club for 6 months.
I could not wait to cast on!

Finished Friday

Well, this was not one of those forever-on-the-needles projects, but it is finished regardless. I have had the yarn for a few monhts as part of Stash Menagerie at Three Iirish Girls. I bought the pattern and I had it is a project bag for over 3 months. I am making a terrible attempt here to take my own photo.

Pooh is a much better model.

Fiber Goodness

We are 2 weeks into the New Year and I hope all is well on your end.

I have been knitting and have some FOs, but I am waiting until they are all done to post. In the meantime, enjoy some fiber. I love this yarn! It's called "Feed Me Seymour." This has already jumped on some needles.

This was part of my last Cinema Club shipment for December for sKNITches. The movie featured was "Little Shop of Horrors". Love the flytrap kit, and the choppin' teeth. These are put together so thoughtfully. Maybe someday I can rejoin. I am trying to prove to my husband we don't need my income so I can retire (ROTFL!

I love Knitterly Things Vesper yarn, but it can be really hard to get your hands on. I scored "The Holly and the Ivy" after Christmas, but I will have it for this year's. This yarn stripes up great so you don't need a stitch pattern -- the yarn does all the work!

Ah! Madtosh - what can I say. This was the December shipment ( I had to sign up for another go-round --they are too lovely to resisit). This is Faubourg in worsted and it plans on being a cowl.
This is Sock in Norway Spruce. Both colorways are from her "Intense" collection. She changed some this for this upcoming subscriptions that suit me better: No lace, which is great as I am not a lace knitter, and 2 skiens of worsted so we can make a larger project. I should be getting the January shipment soon so you can see.
Joined a new group on Raverly called "Finish or Frog Fridays". Details here.
