Fiber Friday Week One

OK -- everyone is oooohing and ahhhhhing over Wollmeise. I have tired to order it during the Loopy Ewe sneak-ups, but have never snagged a skein. I just happend to be on the Wollmeise site when they were updating and managed to order 2 skeins. Look how it comes in the mail all the way from Germany!

Under the sticker they had a mini skein hidden -- adorable. Its "Red Hot Chili ."
Now onto the skeins! I had no idea what I ordered, as everytime I added something to my cart it was "stolen" from me so I just kept adding items and checked out with whatever was remaining. Talk about a crap shoot! I was lucky to get one skein of Sockenwole 80/20 in Suzanne . Its a very generous 510 yards of superwash merino.
This is the same yarn in Vincent colorway. They wash the yarn is something that smells wonderful too......soooo soft.
And they included a little sweet treat and translation of German knitting terms.

Ooh Gummi Baerle. Never mind the yarn. When my kids were small, my mother would send them Gummi Baerle. They loved them and would always be the darlings of their school class since they weren't available yet in the US. Brings back memories. I'm still using 360 as my main blog but am backing everything up to www.rscreations@multiply.com

Luscious yarn and isn't it fun to receive goodies from overseas? Astrid too sends in treats with the yarn, the Europeans are so gracious.

That yarn is truly gorgeous! Love the colors. What a horrible thing, though, to have the yarn stolen out of your cart!? How can that be? I hope things settle down and people get over the excitement. I hate it when things are such a huge fad that it becomes a problem for everyone. Anyway, you were lucky and I hope you enjoy every moment of knitting your new yarn. :)

Hi Jill, my last box was from Herrschnerrs, they had quite a bit of sock yarn and some was stuff I had never seen before. One of the colorways of the Fortissima socka cotton said it had green in it but it DOES not; I love Fortissima but green being my favorite color, that is a bit disappointing, but as I mix it up with other stuff, you can bet that there WILL be green in a sock when I use it.

Nice yarn! So tell us more about how it's ordered. Can't even imagine how they could steal out of your cart and why didn't you steal it right back??? :)
