Ampersand and Crusoe

OK, here's my progress on Ampersand - not bad really, just movin' slowly. This is my first project using a chart, thanks to a class I took at Stitches West.
Here's another view -- I'm likin' it....

...and a close-up (as far a my camera goes anyway) of the stitch pattern

I can't show you Crusoe, because it has been frogged down to the end of the toe increases and stashed for now. Very sad.....

Cool pattern... but how did you do it toe-up instead of top-down?! Love the colorway, too.

I am liking your work, but looking at the peasant heel in the Nancy Bush Folk Socks, I still don't quite "get it". Is it really easy? Oh, and one of my varmints, before he came down ill, munched the edge of the plastic to the "key tag" of my Kitchener instructions you sent me. I guess he loves dangly things. I gotta get the superglue out.

I checked out these socks. So, can any sock that is normally worked from the cuff down be worked from the toe up? Hmmm....thinking........
